Christmas is getting closer and closer and the air is filled with joy! The city has now turned into a veritable Christmas village, with its twinkling lights, traditional markets and shows that enchant young and old alike. With the lighting of the trees, the atmosphere is complete to fully immerse you in the magic of this wonderful season.

In Ferrara, a city rich in art, tradition and special events the anticipation of Christmas can itself become a celebration!

To help you manage the Christmas frenzy, we have provided a rich program of events and special initiatives to accompany you during this countdown!

Among this rich list you will find some cultural experiences that are absolutely not to be missed. If you are a music lover, you can't miss Christmas concerts such as those scheduled at Piazza Trento e Trieste. Here, after the success of the Jubilation Gospel Choir at the lighting of the big tree, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. comes the overwhelming grit of Souvenir de Noel. Same time, same place for the Coro di voci bianche di San Francesco directed by Padre Orazio who will perform instead on Dec. 23.

For a family day out, we suggest you keep an eye on the rich Ferrara Winter Park program, including workshops and shows, or book a special visit to the Estense Castle: on December 26 and 29 Racconti di Natale al Castello is an opportunity to discover the vicissitudes of the ladies and dukes of the court to discover many curious anecdotes about life in the Renaissance with path played back in time.

Also on the program are the not-to-be-missed evenings at the theater such as Dec. 16 the ballet of the Romanian National Opera The Nutcracker at the Teatro Nuovo and Dec. 29 and 30 The Sleeping Beauty by the Russian Classical Ballet at the Teatro Comunale.
