Davidson finds infinite material to give an unforgettable face to each of these facets. Portraits, views of Los Angeles, and lunar landscapes of Death Valley create the composite mosaic of a society where the myth of prosperity coexists with the escape into the Wild West, violence and repression, the most avant-garde architectures, and an almost primordial nature. By extending the gaze beyond the usual, the most common reality reveals itself in its unexpected poetry, and the loneliest landscape is sublimated into a work of art on the brink of abstraction. Another fascinating point of connection between Antonioni and Davidson lies in their shared affinity for visual explorations that challenge the properties of matter, whether it be the reflective surface of glass or the roughness of a desert rock.

Organized by Fondazione Ferrara Arte in collaboration with the Art Museums Service of the Municipality of Ferrara. Curated by Chiara Vorrasi.

Information and Hours: Spazio Antonioni, Corso Porta Mare 5, Ferrara. The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00 AM–1:00 PM / 3:00 PM–6:30 PM. Closed on Mondays. Admission is included with the museum ticket.
