Christmas in Ferrara

That's why on Nov. 18 and 19 the Ferrara Expo district presents "Natalissimo": get ready for 6,000 square meters of handmade crafts and Christmas creations, as well as plenty of events for all ages.
But let's cut to the chase, what to expect from Ferrara Christmas? In the city center, once again this year you will have the opportunity to get lost among the characteristic wooden houses of the Christmas markets that dot the so-called plank of Piazza Trento Trieste. From 1976 to the present, Christmas markets have always been a fixture in Ferrara! It is a real pleasure for citizens and tourists alike to stroll through the historic center dressed up for the holidays and made even more evocative by the Cathedral in the background. Among gastronomic products, books, handicrafts and Christmas gifts, you can buy themed decorations and look for the best gifts for your loved ones.
On Dec. 8 in Cathedral Square, the imposing Christmas tree will be lit, under the curious and bewitched eyes of those in attendance and then kicking off an unmissable Gospel concert. Its lights will add to the miles of illuminations that make the main streets of the historic center shine.
Events, shows and music will make Ferrara's Christmas even more enviable.
From Dec. 8 to 10 comes also "The Castle of Toys," a magical itinerary dedicated to Christmas in the splendid setting of the Estense Castle. On the evening of Dec. 9 there will also be the "Dinner of Toys," to entertain and excite children and their parents. And the unmissable Christmas Concerts, which will be held on the afternoons of Saturday, Dec. 16 and 23, are also worth marking in your agenda.
The world's most beloved holiday is pure joy for children-that's why the long-awaited Santa Claus Village will be set up in Municipal Square. With games, workshops, delicious snacks and lots of entertainment, it will always be a party time!
To fascinate young and old alike, the third edition of Ferrara Winter Park also arrives: a Christmas-themed event for the whole family in which to unleash the Christmas spirit among the ice skating rink, a large panoramic tower, scenic illuminations, animations, food areas and much more. But Winter Park is also expected to host some not-to-be-missed events, including a big concert with a surprise guest on Friday, December 8!
