Darsena di San Paolo

Ferrara is a city whose history is inextricably linked to water. The city was born and shaped between the primary branch of the Po and the Po di Volano: a tributary that still reaches the sea and flows within the Sacca di Goro.

The Darsena di San Paolo (Dock of St. Paul) constitutes a bicycle and pedestrian stretch along the Po di Volano and is part of the Quartiere Giardino.

From this point you can admire beautiful sunsets, relax but also enjoy outdoor sports.

Historical notes

Ferrara was born around the river, and the system of communications it configures represent the driving force behind Ferrara's economy.

Today the city is crossed by the Po's outflow, the Po di Volano, which represents a point of naturalistic interest, but also a point of interest for tourism.

In fact, the Po di Volano constitutes a navigable route to take in order to get to know the city from a different perspective thanks to the experiences offered by Nena, the river boat that is in charge of navigating the waters of the Ferrarese and for years has been guiding people to discover the enchanting surroundings that the river hides.

Along the Po di Volano fits, within the Quartiere Giardino, the Darsena di Ferrara.
